Short Films

The Film Festival does not present short films anymore as from 2007, neither in Competition nor in the International Discoveries section. Please abstain therefore from submitting short films.

Requirements

Only newcomer directors may participate at the International Filmfestival Mannheim-Heidelberg, i.e. directors who are unknown to an international audience outside their home country.
To be eligible for Mannheim-Heidelberg your film must not have been screened in any of the following film festivals:
  • Cannes (International Competition, Quinzaine des Réalisateurs, Un Certain Regard, Semaine de la Critique)
  • Berlin (International Competition, Forum, Panorama)
  • Venedig (International Competition)
  • Locarno (International Competition)
AND
  • any festival in Germany.
