Ruby Blue - Ruby Blue
United Kingdom - By Jan Dunn

Scene from "Ruby Blue"
Jack, the cantankerous pensioner with a passion for carrier pigeons, has not too many friends in Ramsgate, South England. After his wife Zoes death the others take him for an outsider. His relationship with his son is complicated as well and Jack believes that some local hooligans were involved in his wifes death. No wonder Jack does not have a friendly attitude towards the local youths who hang around drinking at the pier and do not have any perspective in their lives. 8-years-old Florrie is the only one to bring some joy into Jacks life and she admires Jacks prize-winning carrier pigeon. Jacks French neighbour Stephanie hits on him, a love story is about to begin when Jack is accused of being a child molester when little Florrie disappears one day. A feel-good social drama starring Bob Hoskins and Josiane Balasko. Director Jan Dunn was in Competition in 2005 with her debut "Gypo".
