A widower and retired teacher, Gao visits his 29-years-old daughter in the province capital city of Kunming. His plan is to marry his daughter Xiaoujun eventually. At the local community park the parents of young singles meet in order to offer their children for marriage respectively, according to tradition in China. The park is however a networking platform for the lonesome pensioners as well and represents a perfect mirror of traditional Chinese society. Young Chinese people go their own way however. Father Gao has not even noted that his daughter already has a lover, a TV journalist.
The oldfashioned parent and his daughter live in entirely different worlds and can hardly understand each other. A tale on the coexistence of old and modern China.
