Le cèdre penché - Mona's Daughters
Canada - Rafael Ouellet

Scene from "Le cèdre penché"
Two sisters sing at their mothers funeral. Brigitte hasnt been at home for years. Candice has piled up loads of anger and rage. At the after-funeral meeting at the parental countryhouse, the sisters estrangement becomes palpable and is expressed by their different ways of handling the situation and the different music they choose to overcome grief. Both sisters are composers like their mother was. A family united through music. Brigittes compositions are furious and frantic whereas Candice likes quiet and lyrical melodies. When they discover some old recordings of their mother the two girls get closer eventually.
