The portrait of three Chinese villages in different provinces between backwardness and turbo-capitalism. Every seventh person on earth is a Chinese farmer. Elke Groen and Ina Ivanceanu have collected interviews between 2002 and 2005 and recorded everyday life of people on film. During the shooting the villagers were asked to make short films about their environment, their hopes and dreams. An unusual documentary allowing insight into life in China outside the urban and industrial centres.
